Maureen Meyers

Dr. Maureen Meyers is a Senior Archaeologist with New South Associates, Inc in Stone Mountain. She is an expert on pre-Contact Native Americans of the Southeast, and has researched Native American settlement, households, ceramics, and fiber production. She received her B.S. from Radford University (Virginia), an M.A. from University of Georgia, and a Ph.D from the University of Kentucky. She is Past President of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference where she created scholarships for tribal and HBCU students, instituted organizational policy for addressing sexual harassment, and helped create and pass an image policy regarding Native American burial remains and associated objects.
